maybe i waited too long...

to review movies again, so reviewing all of them might just be old news and totally pointless.

The Bourne Supremacy
Live Free or Die Hard
The Simpsons

i'm not going to review these, but if you haven't seen them yet, you need to make some friends andask them if you can go see movies with them. or you should get a job and just go by yourself.

Superbad
"yeah, they said that would happen in health class."

B+
i just like to see what happens when a group of dudes get together to write a raunchy teen comedy and decide against holding back on the potty talk. if its going to be R rated, shit pussy dammit, they are going to make it R rated. go big or go home. yeah.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
"Expelliarmus!"

B-
It's weird, i went to see this movie but i remember very little of it. i think i was really distracted. though i would never admit it until she is 18 but it was probably by hermione. i do remember it being more different than the book than the other movies but whatever. no one should expect these movies to even come close to the books.

Ratatouille
"I don't wanna eat garbage dad!"

A-
It was good, but pixar is such a factory for good movies it is hard to compare to other ones. I would say this was my 4th favorite behind mosters inc, finding nemo and toy story....but 4th favorite doesn't sound very impressive. see what i mean?

This Is England
"I'm Harvey and I'm here to give you jip."

A-
this was one of those pleasant surpises for me. i mean, i was expecting it to be pretty good- and it was. i was also expecting it to be really really violent- and it wasn't, which was something of a relief. i don't know, i think it would have ruined a lot of the tension it builds until there is a little violence. the other thing i really liked about it was how charming and depressing it was at the same time. i did however, give it the minus because of the cover of "please please please give me what i want" they played near the end. it was just a lousy cover of a good song. it was wrong to do and i hope the filmmakers are sorry. really good movie though.

Rescue Dawn
"I love America. America gave me wings."

B
How does Christian Bale just decide to make himself so skinny- and then just do it like it was nothing? oh you want me to be batman? no problem, let me go put back on my muscles. I don't really want to spoil any plot points for the movie, but i did appreciate how unexpected that one part was - cindy knows what i am talking about, she and i both still make jokes about it sometimes.

King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters
"No punk bastard- EVER!- Got a Gnarly piece of Poon-Tang by being SENSITIVE, or CONSIDERATE!"

A
The best thing about this movie is that it is so fun to just judge people, and feel totally justified about it. The people in this movie are so easy to judge, and to do it is so enjoyable. villains, heroes, all of them.

also, bonus points for using THIS SONG- AWESOME!

There doesn't seem to be a lot of good stuff out right now, so it might be a while before i post more- but i'm also bad at being a regular blogger, so it will probably be a while anyway

Also, i'm trying to pitch this movie... what if a character from the BOM came to find himself in the big city? kind of like a crocodile dundee like thing....

Shennannigans!

I'm thinking of calling it "Dude, where is my Liahona and Sword of Laban?"

I enjoyed seeing Superbad with Marsha, but it would have been fun to go see it with you.

That part in Rescue Dawn was so crazy. Remember when we were walking to the theater and we saw that National Geographic moment with the bird and the cat?

I want to see This is England. I got tickets to go to England for Christmas! I need to do research.

that poor bird! he was so dead!

i think this is england would be perfect research for making a trip to england- provided you were traveling there in a time machine set to 1983, and you were going to nottingham, and wanted to hang out with the local skinheads.

Every once in a while I think about falling out of love with you. Then, this and the corresponding picture you posted happen:

I'm thinking of calling it "Dude, where is my Liahona and Sword of Laban?"
